EXP-3 environment

Here is my final post for this course which is been ended with this final EXP-3 which basically has taken all my sleeping time...

note: while you are on the elevtors, have a look around..

Final screenshots

This are my develpoed and final screenshots of my environment.
with this above image we can see the Zhang's elevator/studio is inside a cube with no lid. it looks like a prison, as no one notices her or can see her. the only types of people that can see here are people that are similar to her. with the walls, the interoir is the texture of th dollar sign and the cardboard box is the texture of the recycling logo.

this is the table seen from a top view, the green affect has been given because from what i had gained from arts back in school it means peace. therefore the meeting room is a room of peace.

as you can see the different colours on the left hand side of the image, those colours represent the i-mac's, as Job elevator/studio is infront/above it.

the begining of the stair journey is dark, which represents the hard times as Jobs ha problems within his carrier. (known as th Dark Ages)

this is a shot of the i-buildng from a top perspective. we can aslo see the i-ele from a distance. this shot shows us the interior of the i-building.

this are the Dark Age stais that Jobs starts to travel from. as the he travels further the light becomes brighter, meaning that his ideas were been accepted by and appreciaed.


this is the facade of the i-ele front view. the entry is also made as an "i" lettered shape.

this is the side view of the arena were again we view the differen coloured lights as we are on the "box" Yin's elevator.

on the left is the exterior of Yin's hideout.

beaneath the stais are also given light inorder for jobs to view his steps andalo his steps are highlighted as history.

New "the Box"

This is my second "box" created for Zhang. With this new model, it looks like a box folding up. This box is also her studio and an elevator. Since Zhang doesnt want her wealth to be KNOWN she secretly travels from places to places within this BOX.

New "i-ele"

This is my second i-ele" made on Google SkecthUp. Since there was a problem with my previous one i have changed my sphere to a cube (not just any cube, but an "i-cube.") hahaha!!

Draft-3 map

note : once you hav entered the meeting room from Jobs' side.. u must come back out the same way as u walked in then... cross over to Yin's box.... also it takes aronud 4 seconds for the elevators to move and you mustbe inside them for them to move... Have FUNN!!!!

Below are extra images on Draft 3. Draft 3 was basically my final model, since I was personally was not satisfied and feedback from other students and friends, it made me have second thoughts. Therefore, I built a new map for my clients.

Draft two is about the space of Yin been added with the meeting room.

This is the studio and elevator of Yin.

This is the meeting room for both clients.

Draft one is about the space of Jobs. (Even though not all elements have been complete yet... that’s why it’s a draft... hahaha).

The entry/exit of Jobs' studio is seen as a letter "i," which resembles that this building is known to be the "i-building." That is the entry/exit is Jobs entry to go inside the "i-ele."

That is the "i" seen from the interior of the building, plus grenade been fired.

As Jobs enters his studio (the "i-building"), the elevator will be spotted above.

The elevator will land were the grenade has blown up and Jobs will walk out and continue his journey by the stairs. (The stairs, once entered there is no way back).

Since, with technology, it only goes ahead not backwards. (Like the i-pod, each time a new one was made, it was slimmer and expanded memory as well as playing videos not just audio files).

Inspirations

The way i came up with the "i-building" was very simple, actually it just hit me. I thought that today, I hardly see any building that looks like its purpose of been built. As i spoke to my tutor, he told me a few buildings that have been built like that, therefore i was eager to see them so I searched and I have posted some below.

"the Box" VS. the "i" ...

below are a few of my hand drawings that explain my Interpretation better then words.

With the above drawings, we can see the seating arrangements of Jobs and Yin. There is a middle table which is the main table. On the main table the two clients present their latest work or idea (within the magic "i" and magic "box").

The seats have been arranged/designed in a specific way, were i recall the times of high school class exams. These two clients are put in the same situation, were they cannot view each other’s work till they are presenting it.

We can also view that Jobs is facing east and that Yin is facing west. They are both on the latitude line or the equator, meaning they are both on the same status and level in power and wealth.

The main point is the design of the table’s; I have made them in a dollar shape. Where dollar = power.

Google SketchUp of Yin's Elevator --- "the Box"

These are images for Yin's elevator known as "the Box."

This elevator is also known to be the studio of Zhang. MY first couple ideas that I had negotiated with my tutor were that tithe box flaps would fold up and make a box, which then would act as an elevator and take Yin to the meeting room. With this idea that have (mages shown above) is that the two side flaps are open, so that access inside the studio/elevator is easy and also the cube is half complete, since her wealth has been discovered. As Yin walks inside to the table and chair, the elevator will start to move and take her to the meeting room. My texture is applied to the inside and outside of the studio/elevator. with the exterior, its seen as recycled paper/cardboard with the black and white effect also with the recycling logo patched on and it means that she is showing people that the she cares about re-use of materials and also that she is n the business of recycling. The interior is another one of my textures used which is the dollar sign ($) as it shows that she is hiding in her wealth without letting people from outside know.

The "i-ele" known to be the i-elevator.

Below is the information. (info is done in an unusal way to to represent the full idea of the i-ele).

As we can see, the "i-ele" is just building that is designed from the letter "i." The elevator is the dot and the vertical line is the studio. The entry door is also made as an "i." From research, the letter "i" used by Jobs has a definition, for example the i-phone, the i-pod, i-mac and also the i-touch. Before I tell you what the "i" stands for i will tell what i had in mind before i discovered it. I thought that the "i" might stand for 'intellectual' or 'intelligence' or even 'information' but unfortunately it wasn’t none of them. It stands for INTERNET. Yes, it’s very odd, as it may not make sense, but the word INTERNET is used so that the "i" series updates our lives, and as we pass one day, technology increases and upgrades, therefore the most useful way to communicate or gain access to information or any other thing would be through the INTERNET. Also, from my understanding, the word internet is used is because in order to download and audio file to your i-pod you must be on the INTERNET, another thing is that a small object such as the i-phone can keep you in contact with everyone, anywhere at all times, how? Through the INTERNET.... hahaha

Through this series of steps we can see the "i-ele" (the dot known as the i-elevator) is going tho go throw the studio (the vertical building) as Jobs (stick figure) gets closer to the entry of the building. as he get there, the "i-ele" will drop down making a loud bang. As jobs steps in there, the "i-ele" should make the dial-up internet noise. As the noise finishes, it will shoot into the space, taking Jobs to the entry of the meeting room.
